Astrological
transits, used as
a forecasting tool, help us evaluate upcoming trends in a person’s life
(although they don’t predict “exact events,” which is something not easy
or even desirable to do in astrology). In Celine’s case, transiting Pluto
is currently active. Pluto deals with our sense of deep renewal that comes
after we have shed things we’ve long outgrown (or people from whose tight
grip of power we need to be released). The transition implied is never
taken lightly, as it often sets into motion major life alterations for
us. It can seem like a fateful turning point, but one that can totally
rejuvenate us.
Transiting Pluto
has been stimulating Celine’s Aries Sun—the transit in question is called
the trine—ever since
the beginning of 1999, and continues until November 2000. Pluto says this
time in Celine’s life has infused her with an inner strength unlike anything
she has known before. She is ready to plumb her depths and bring out needs
and feelings that have had to put on hold for years. She is to more learn
what she’s all about in her depths, away from the spotlight. Ironically,
Celine is taking a hiatus while she’s at the very top of her game. Her
career is, itself, showing no signs of slowing down; yet Celine has decided
to put the brakes on the hectic pace of her worldly success, and now is
turning her attention exclusively to people near and dear to her. In short,
she needs to reclaim a private life. Her inner self seeks renewal. However,
Pluto is now passing through the part of her chart—the Fifth
House—known for helping us getting in touch with our inner
child, and often doing so by having biological children. Celine is intuitively
doing the right thing at this point in her life by taking time off to
try her hand at motherhood for the first time, something that should prove
restorative for her.
Her
husband René has had a brush with cancer in during the past year, and
needs her more than ever. Luckily for him, the Pluto-Sun transit also
suggests Celine has a special healing power right now that can help Rene
on the road to recovery—heck, she even had a big hit called “The Power
of Love.” Now, she’ll get to demonstrate the power of love first hand,
behind the scenes, in a very personal and transformational way! I wish
her the best!
Transits:
Any planet in our chart can receive a transit (a temporary trigger) from
any planet currently in the sky, lasting for varying time periods of time.
A transit from the Moon lasts about a few hours. A transit from Pluto,
as Celine is having, can last more than two years, and is thus more intense
and long lasting in impact. The slower moving the transiting planet, the
deeper the issues we’ll need to address.
Pluto
is
a planet known for its no-nonsense outcomes. It ushers in major lifestyle
changes that force us to draw on our hidden resources and rebuild parts
of ourselves as a result. It can be a traumatic period, but it also can
feel like we’re bursting with transformative power (which is more what
Celine should be experiencing now).
A
Trine
is
also an aspect that, when involved in a transit, allows us to open up
creatively and willingly take in what planet is doing the triggering.
If Pluto is that planet, we can be willing to descend to our private underground
(our hidden psychological recesses) to unearth much treasure within that
has previously been untapped. The trine helps to facilitate the flow of
this experience, but we will need to be more conscious of this process
and dynamically help it along.
In
our Fifth House,
creative self-extension is a must. We're to learn the art of play and
the value of taking risks in matters of the heart. Dealings with children
can teach us about inner joy, as we tap into an eternally youthful quality
within. With Pluto here, Celine gets to transform into a kid again as
she finds ways to have a grand time exploring what truly makes her happy.
