Eliot Spitzer, Client 9

"I'm a steamroller," Eliot Spitzer told a legislative leader shortly after he took office as New York's Governor. Previously, as the state's Attorney General, his aggressive investigations brought down Wall Street crooks, but his confrontational style won him few supporters in the political arena. Only his wife Silda stood by his side when he resigned from office last week, following reports that he was secretly visiting an expensive prostitute.

Eliot Spitzer was born with his Sun in intellectual, dualistic Gemini (June 10, 1959; Bronx, NY; time unknown), where it conjoins the U.S. Mars. This alignment allowed him to personify the American hero and its fighting spirit. However, his Sun forms a close trioctile (135º) to deceptive Neptune, a stressful combination that gave rise to split personalities completely at odds with each other.

Spitzer's Mars in demonstrative, extroverted Leo further identifies him as the archetypal hero. Mars forms a tight quincunx (150º) to Saturn, which is dignified in Capricorn. This challenging Mars-Saturn duo accounts for his pushy, domineering style as well as his courage, daring, and recklessness. His Mars is also conjunct Venus, and when the two love planets align while under challenging aspects, romantic triangles are the norm.

Spitzer's irreconcilable conflict was how to uphold his perfect public image (Saturn in Capricorn), while still answering to his instinctual need for fascinating, playful sex (Venus-Mars in Leo). Silda Wall Spitzer (December 10, 1957), with her Sun-Saturn conjunction exactly opposite his Sun, helped him uphold the proper image. However, last week when transiting Uranus squared their opposing Suns, his carefully-crafted charade ended suddenly and tragically.

Letters

A NewsScope reader asks about the 8:00 am birth time used for Hillary Clinton in this column: "Where does it come from?" Astrodatabank* rates Hillary's birth time as DD for "dirty data", because there are so many conflicting reports, including a widely used time of 8:00 pm. The sources listed under the 8:00 am time are the sources I used. For details, see neptunecafe.com/Hillary08.html.

Hillary's Moon advances from 22º Pisces to 29º Pisces as her birth time shifts from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm. This presents the easiest way to distinguish between the two. Currently, Obama and Hillary are flirting with negative campaigns. However, the real fireworks may start in late May and into June, when transiting Uranus opposes his Mars at 22º Virgo. This volatile combination should create some spectacular attacks and counter-attacks between the two if Hillary's Moon is actually at 22º Pisces.

Another reader asks "How much do a person's own outcome wishes go into interpreting a chart, or is it considered? I ask because I have been following your tracking of the election in NewsScope, and I wonder how to interpret some of the enthusiasm or projections in the articles. I understand some things can be clear cut, but some can be storied or symbol."

Yes, some things can be clear cut. Like it was very clear to me that neither Romney nor Giuliani would make it, and fairly clear that John McCain would, based on their connections to the U.S. Moon. But in judging between Hillary and Obama, it's not so clear, because they both have close connections to the U.S. Moon, and they both have strong charts right now.

Ashley Dupre, Love Goddess

Ashley Alexandra Dupre, Eliot Spitzer's favorite call girl, is cashing in on her 15 minutes of fame. Both Penthouse and Hustler are courting her for their next cover with million-dollar offers, while her MySpace profile has received over 7 million views last week, and her rap song "What We Want" hit the airwaves.

Ashley, also known by the Emperor's Club escort service as "Kristin", was born with her Sun conjunct Venus in media-savvy Aquarius (January 24, 1986**; Wall, NJ; time unknown), and only one week before the Challenger disaster. The Sun-Venus woman readily expresses the affectionate, attractive qualities of the Love Goddess, but with this combination in Aquarius, it carries an aloof detachment that baffles most men.

Ashley's Venusian charms are dramatically amplified by the square to Pluto, giving her an innate eroticism that is both charismatic and compelling. However, the tension with Pluto indicates underlying psychological issues—often sexual abuse in the early home life is a factor, which Ashley has acknowledged. Her Sun-Venus-Pluto complex happens to align with Spitzer's Mars-Venus conjunction, so that her presence stimulates his sex drive.

Ashley was born with a Juno-Saturn conjunction in Sagittarius. Normally, this combination urges one to form a long-term commitment with a partner, but due to the strong independence of her Aquarius placements, and the fear of betrayal implied by the Venus-Pluto square, commitment was not an option. Instead, her Juno-Saturn played out as getting involved with an older (Saturn) married (Juno) man. This scandal erupted as transiting Saturn squared her Juno.
