Triple Conjunction in Aquarius

Several readers have asked about the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune triple conjunction that is now shaping up. These three planets are converging in late Aquarius, and will have their greatest influence in the months of May, June, and July, and then again in November and December of this year. For those looking for celestial signs of the Age of Aquarius, one couldn't find a more appropriate alignment.

It's taken a major global economic crisis to move minds, but Neptune in Aquarius is about envisioning ideal systems for the peoples of the world. Chiron in Aquarius aims at recognizing and fixing (healing) the most painful situations, including poverty, hunger and social injustice. Jupiter in Aquarius creates opportunities to come together, to network, discuss and resolve the most important issues facing our planet.

Talk of restructuring our global institutions has already begun and at the highest levels of government. On April 2, the G-20 summit agenda will focus on ways to regulate the financial industries. Also, European leaders are meeting with President Obama to discuss effective climate-change measures ahead of December's UN conference on the subject. And the International Criminal Court is awakening, as it deals with genocide in Darfur.

Most importantly to Americans, this triple conjunction takes place right on the U.S. Moon (at 25º Aquarius), and so will have a dramatic influence over the American people and their collective mood. At the center is Barack Obama with his Uranus at 25º Leo, as he prudently but dramatically implements fundamental shifts in the way Americans do business, relate to each other, and co-create our collective future.

The ICC Enters the Age of Aquarius

Last Wednesday (March 4), the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued an arrest warrant for Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir for crimes against humanity. The Court decided that there was insufficient evidence to prosecute him for genocide, but al-Bashir became the first sitting head of government indicted by the ICC. The Sudanese government says the ICC has no jurisdiction over this matter and refuses to cooperate.

The ICC came into being at midnight on July 1, 2002 (The Hague, Netherlands), and a horoscope set for this time describes the inherent power and controversy over a world court. At the Midheaven is Pluto in judicial Sagittarius (and ruling the Ninth House of legal matters). Near the ICC's Aquarius Ascendant is a close Pallas-Uranus conjunction, which projects the ICC's image of being independent, fair-minded and politically active.

Following its inception, the Court elected judges and then issued its first arrest warrant for a rebel Congolese general on July 8, 2005. At the time, the progressed Ascendant was conjunct Pallas, which is associated with the Goddess of Justice. Transiting Saturn was also closely aspecting the Pallas-Uranus conjunction, bringing the Court's authority into play for the first time.

So far, the ICC has investigated just four situations from 139 complaints, but last week greatly extended its reach when a transiting Mars-Chiron conjunction landed right on its Aquarius Ascendant. Neptune is also in the mix, and will soon be joined by Jupiter. Consequently, hopes are running high that the ICC can tackle narco-trafficking and terrorism. India is especially interested in trying governments that use nuclear weapons.

Nadya Suleman, Welfare Octomom

The intense media coverage of octomom Nadya Suleman has generated numerous fascinating stories—none of which have any real newsworthy value. Yet the drama continues, with the latest episode unfolding as her ex-boyfriend demanded a paternity test. Then last Tuesday, Nadya's father appeared on 'The Oprah Winfrey Show" to state how irresponsible his daughter is, and that she needs a mental evaluation.

Data researcher Pat Taglilatelo reports that Nadya's birth time is 9:59 pm (July 11, 1975; Fullerton, CA). Astrologers can now confirm the prominence of Ceres**, since it squares her Aquarius Ascendant. The American public is naturally intrigued by her story, which will only become more dramatic as the Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune conjunction simultaneously passes over her Ascendant and the U.S. Moon over the next few months.

Many observers complain about her status as an unemployed welfare mom, but the conditions of her Second House of money are looking up. She was born with Jupiter, Chiron and Mars in the Second House, with each of these placements being severely limited by hard aspects to other planets around the chart—notably, the square to her Sun-Saturn in the Fifth House of children.

Her progressed Sun is now forming an exact trioctile (135º aspect) to her Part of Fortune, located right on the Second House cusp. Consequently, she has managed to use her own celebrity (Sun) to get paid for TV appearances. Her progressed Sun is also heading into a trine to her Jupiter, an unusually favorable situation that promises to bring her a generous sum—most likely for selling the video of her giving birth. The bidding is reportedly already over $1million.

*The ICC was previously profiled in NewsScope on April 16, 2002, where it was referred to as the World Court. The ICC initiated its first trial in 2006, as foreseen in that article.
