I was delighted to find this succinct and well-researched article which shows the acceptance of astrology in Judaism.
My factsbehindfaith.com website explores the astrology behind the Kabbalah's Tree of Life to conclude that, like all ancient religions, Judaism and, following on, Christianity, are really astrological religions with astrological deities.
Of course the knowledge behind this was esoteric and oral and has been lost but the astrology of the Tree of Life isn't difficult to recognise ! Nor the astrological characters of the Trinty. What else should these deities be based on ? Ignorance of the planets' influence ? |

I loved this article! I have long been interested in archaeology and this article bridges archaeology with the history of the science of astrology. It is interesting to see how this science has survived basically intact for millenia! I also love how astrology evolves through the shared experience of people. Please have more articles like this one, so we may learn about our roots as astrologers. The photos are wonderful too! Seeing the splendor of the mosaic was indeed inspirational (I also do stained glass and have long wanted to delve into mosaics, and using stones (they used 22 different kinds of stone in this particular one!) is very tempting (I am also a geologist). Thanks you for putting this on the site! |

'Beth Alpha Synagogue’s Zodiac Floor' is a delightful and educational piece of History. I enjoyed this article immensely and look forward to the next Marcia Masino article. |
