I read this column every month...or moon rather, I even wait for it. It has been an essential tool to my work. I am a professional psychic and have been for most of my adult life. I have an M.A. in psychology and I send a lot of successful people to this sight because it is so grounded and clear and earthy...the closest thing I could find to jungian astrology online. The comment about GW's stomach being curdled with corruption...
wow
I am not saying you are wrong or right just that I have always felt I could send my people here for clarity and that this was an astrology page that professionally stepped back outside of partisan comments.
What were you thinking? I mean, your stock guy is fabulous...a lot of republicans get their astrology here. Its kinda like shooting yourself in the foot really.
Just so you know I don't subscribe to the good/evil republican/democrat polarity. I feel it must be transcended. I thought you did too? I mean, as the pseudo-clergy we are, don't we need to be leaders in the shift to higher consciousness? ...and steer clear of saying things that inspire staying "in it", like pointing fingers of judgement?

Otherwise thanks for all your great columns. You are providing an amazing service, which I might add I would be willing to pay for in a heartbeat if it were a subscription thing.

Kind vibes,
Molly

When the sun enters Capricorn today, we will be in the midst of a mutual reception between Saturn and the Sun. At the same time, the moon is also under Saturn's rule. What do you make of this? Can we expect this winter to be cold and stormy? Venus and under traditional rulership Neptune are both in Saturn's signs. Is old man winter giving us a harsh season or might the sun temper him a little?

DATE POSTED: 2/1/2006
NAME: Paul Mayo
EMAIL: paul@englishastrology.com
Jeff, further to your text about the Jupiter square Neptune of January 27 2006, it may be worth remembering that on the previous square of these two planets (Jupiter was in Taurus) on March 16th 2000, the Pope (a Taurean) volunteered a unique and ground-breaking official apology for all the past sins of the Catholic Church! So appropriate to Jupiter-Neptune! The document was actually relased on March 12th, four days before the exact aspect, triggered by a Sun-semisextile-Mars from Pisces to Aries. The church of course is Piscean, and Mars in Aries is the archetype of courage.

The trigger-factors for the current aspect (i.e. Jan 2006) will probably be the conjunction of Neptune by Mercury (February 1st) and Sun (February 6th) and associated aspects, so I wait with bated breath to see what comes of it!

A Wild Moon, with it's square quarter's of increasing declination and for the next few years, untameable at the quarters. When we revisit a domesticated moon far downstream, enjoy the outer edges of the Solar System's imagination as Neptune and Pluto have a sextile romp until 2030...>Astromike*

We are a small publishing house specializing in book/cd combos of poetry... Two of our titles this year are "An Astrologer's Daughter" and "Aleph 2160: A Zodiac Oracle".

I thought you'd like my dream response to this New Moon... As the season turns, a poem for you....

Living At Last In Joy

New Moon in Virgo begins just past what would have been
my mother’s eighty-eighth birthday, this celebratory dream.

As I’m trying on my new crimson nightgown, there’s a knock
at the door, midnight. They’ve come from across the way,
Strathroy, where mom is staying; she’s in trouble tonight.

“My heart’s been pounding out of my chest for an hour.
Come and stay with me!” One of the kids is going to go
but I will though it means being up all night with her again.
I know the way back to Front Street, her mother’s old home.

Outside, downstairs, mom is standing in the tall fall weeds,
thin arms out, grasping at stars. “Yes,” she cries, eyes alight.
“They’re here!” Does she mean the ancestors have arrived

for this time of her dying? “I’m reaching for the stars! Can
you see?” Sparks of light glimmer mid-air, not the tangible
beings she gathers to her chest. Ecstatic, she calls: “I’m living

in Continuous Presence, the presents, the Present!” Hand in
hand, we return home to the place of the grandmothers. That
is her gift, joining me to the band of being, whenever I recall.

A glorious last week of SUMMER to you!

SUBJECT: May 30 New Moon Eclipse
DATE POSTED: 5/1/2003
NAME: Jeff Jawer
EMAIL: jjawer@stariq.com
The reason this event was not included in the Taurus New Moon report is because it's the first event of the Gemini New Moon report that will come out later this month.

An annular eclipse is one in which a ring of the Sun's light can be seen around the Moon (annular means ring). Solar eclipses are never visible everywhere that the Sun is visible. There are specific areas for each eclipse where they can be seen. I believe that lunar eclipses, though, can be seen anywhere that the Moon in visible.

I don't agree with the statement that an eclipse is about "a change from which there is no going back." While some eclipses do correspond to powerful changes, each one is unique and works differently.

  Hello,
I always enjoy your Full Moon Reports and was anxiously awaiting what you might say about the Annular
Solar Eclipse on May 31st. As that happens to be my 57th Birthday. My Solar Return chart shows a stellium including both Sun and Moon in the 1st house. ;) Looks Portentous to me.
What exactly is an 'Annular Eclipse'
anyway? I figure it means it happens annually; but why so often is it ignored? I think I heard once that it meant the Moon did not cover the Sun, or could not be seen? But then how is it seen sometimes and others not? Do you have a special description of what an Eclipse on your Birthday means? I was born with a partial solar eclipse occuring the day before my birth. Now it's coming round again; I would like a clearer picture of what to expect. I've been taught that an eclipse is a 'change from which there is no going back'. Is that an apt description?
Why was this Eclipse not included in the monthly New Moon report?
Thanks for your help.
Julie

Greetings to you Jeff Jawer, Wizard at StarIq,
I don't know how to address a glaring errata - and I bet I am not the first to point it out to you - however... Please indulge me here.

Aquarius is NOT mid-Winter (Winter Solstice/mid-Summer (Summer Solstice)!!! Start of Capricorn/Cancer are the times of the Winter/Summer solstices.

The equinoxes, start of Libra/Aries, are the mid-Spring/Autumn points. And thus, the related Season actually begins around 45 days prior.

With Love from one who is always learning,
Suzie from OZ
