I just wanted to mention the 1893 conjunction of Neptune and Pluto took place duiring the World's Fair. Thomas Edison was demonstrating his kintescope (movies) at the world's fair. Also, Scorpio is on the 3rd of the Washington inauguration chart - and this time period ties in with the development of automobiles. If a 2 PM time, NY, New York, is used for the Washington chart - the Pluto/Neptune conjunction took place on the MC and both planets trined their natal positions before the left the 10th house (completing grand trines. The 1893 World's Fair also introduced many new products that are still on the market today.
Currently, transiting Neptune is moving in to conjoin Pluto at 19 Aquarius, while degree/yr Mars is in Scorpio, completing a grand trine to natal Moon/Jupiter in Cancer and natal Saturn in Pisces (Progressed Mercury has just been leaving this area after a long sojourn that included tremendous strides in communication and transportation, among other inventions!!!
It does look like a tremendous time for new inventions. Pluto has just opposed the Wright Bros. first flight position (19 Gemini) and we have SpaceShipOne. This position sextiles the natal Neptune (21 Libra) and Pluto (19 Aquarius) positions.
It does look like a very productive time for inventions.
